What would You do..

An alien from somewhere approaches you after exiting the craft from some distant galaxy. What would your reaction be. Would you be in shock, speechless, unable to move. Or maybe you would want to ask questions, exchange money, take a ride or just stare. None of us really know what we would do in such an instance of great magnitude. I think I would want a round trip journey and to have a token of proof for taking this great ride. I really don't see this happening in the near future to me, but I will be prepared when it does happen....I hope anyway that I am ready for all the excitement...would you be ready....

3 Weirdest Ancient Artifacts

I find anthropology fascinating. But what I find even more fascinating are the anomalies that are discovered that do not fit into conventional scientific theories or anthropological history. I have compiled a list of 3 such anomalies that science has still yet to explain.

The Dropa Stones. Discovered in caves on an archeological expedition in 1938 into the Baian-Kara-Ula mountains of China, hundreds of stones measuring 9 inches in diameter were discovered. Each stone contained a circle cut into the center etched with a spiral groove. It closely resembled a stone phonographic record. The Dropa Stones are dated to 12,000 years old. The the spiral etched groove is composed of tiny hieroglyphics that tell the weird story of the Dropa, who crash landed their spacecraft into the mountains. Remains were found in the caves. Status: still unaccountable by modern science.

The Antikythera Mechanism. This piece of corroded bronze was composed of many gears and tiny wheels. The artifact was dated to 80 B.C. based on writing in the case. It is still unknown who created this artifact or its purpose, but x-rays revealed a complex gearing system that was not known to modern man until 1575. Status: currently under active study. Numberous theories abound relating to the artifact as some type of astronomical computer or guidance system.

The Baghdad Battery. This artifact was found in the ruins of a Parthian village dating back to between 248 B.C. and 226 A.D. The weird device consists of a 5-1/2-inch high clay jar that contained a copper cylinder held in place by asphalt. Inside of that is an oxidized iron rod. Scientist's state the device needs only to be filled with an acid or alkaline liquid to produce an electric charge. Theory holds that this ancient battery was used for electroplating objects with gold. Very odd considering batteries would not be rediscovered for another 1,800 years.

The anthropological record consists of hundreds of similar objects which seem out of place in their found historical setting. Many question and theories have have arisen from these discoveries. Was there an ancient society more advanced then was believed to exist at the time? Are these weird artifacts the remnants of ancient space travelers? How does a culture lose a scientific discovery for thousands of years at a time. And more importantly, what could happen to our current world that would cause us to lose our current technological advances and return us to a state where we are forced to start all over and rediscover our science? Nuclear war? Space alien intervention? Who knows...
