"I would estimate the unidentified flying object was anywherefrom 50,000 to 100,000 feet in altitude because I could easily seethat passenger jets could fly under it." - Allen Epling, Amateur Astronomer, Virgie, KYAmateur astronomer and retired science teacher, Allen Epling, was in the backyard of his Virgie, Kentucky, home on October 16, 2012, at 2 PM when he got out his 8-inch Meade SCT Schmitt Cassegrain Telescope and began observing a bright, strange aerial object for 2.5 hours. Several times he saw airliners fly below the object, implying to him that the unidentified mirror-like "thing" brightening and dimming on a regular cycle was perhaps at 50,000 to 100,000 feet where the jet stream moves. But to his astonishment, over the entire 2.5 hours, whatever it was never moved.
