I.S.P.P. A. Statement

Following is a just-arrived e-mail from Janie Rulen, spokesperson for the International Society for the Preservation of Paranormal Abominations (I.S.P.P.A).

"Dear Doc Paranormal:

"I have recently been made aware by an alert member of the so-called Paranormal Big Five safari expedition currently being put together by Romanian entrepreneur Andrei Duprei. The I.S.P.P.A. strongly objects to the organized murder of innocent paranormal trophy animals for the entertainment and delight of super-rich sportsmen.

"While the general public strongly supports the preservation of traditional big game, it has yet to be enlightened that paranormal wildlife also needs protection. The preservation of paranormal wildlife is the chief mission of the I.S.P.P.A. and we intend to take firm action against Mr. Duprei's renegade hunt. While I agree that many of these creatures are disgusting abominations that are dangerous to humans, from their perspective they are only doing what comes naturally.

"Think of a lion slaughtering a villager. No one believes that all lions be killed because a single unfortunate incident. Now think of pack of werewolves tearing a hiker to shreds. Our reaction to this sad event should be the same: mourn the victim but preserve the animal. Therefore, the I.S.P.P.A. will be devoting its considerable resources and political clout to stop Mr. Duprei's little hunt by all means at our disposal."
